Dumbledore?! ZOMG!

I read it a few days ago, but still thought that it would make a nice news-related post:

Dumbledore is gay!

Yep, you heard (read, actually) it right! J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter series (if you didn’t know that, then you have lived in vain), said in an interview that our favourite headmaster has been, for most of his life, gay. She also mentions that he cared for Grindelwald more that you average best-friend would… read on to get proof:

“After reading briefly from the final book, “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” she took questions from audience members.

She was asked by one young fan whether Dumbledore finds “true love.”

“Dumbledore is gay,” the author responded to gasps and applause.

She then explained that Dumbledore was smitten with rival Gellert Grindelwald, whom he defeated long ago in a battle between good and bad wizards. “Falling in love can blind us to an extent,” Rowling said of Dumbledore’s feelings, adding that Dumbledore was “horribly, terribly let down.”

Dumbledore’s love, she observed, was his “great tragedy.” “

Howl

Here is a sad poem I found on DeviantArt (link at the Links section). It’s written by phoenixtsukino and it’s about Remus Lupin a.k.a. Moony. Next to it is a picture of Remus on the Halloween night of the year James and Lily died (the picture belongs to *Hillary-CW).

“The ones I love so dearly,
All my friends,
They’re gone now,
Never to return.
Why did you leave me?
Though you’re gone

I can still hear you

Whispering softly in my ear.

The ghosts of my past surround me now.

Hovering over my head,

Resting on my shoulders;

It’s too much to bear.

What happened to the life
I once recognized?
I trusted you

With all my heart and soul.

After all these years,

Why do you betray me now?

I can remember love,

I can remember pride,
I can remember happiness,
But I can’t remember your face.

I’m crying now,

In the black hole of my heart.

Where are you

When I need you the most?

I hide in the corner,

I hide under the blanket,

I hide in the closet,
But I can’t escape it.
The moon comes out again tonight

And I become a monster once more.

It hurts more then ever now.

Somebody help me… “

Harry Potter

I am a huge Harry Potter fan. Have been so ever since I read HP and the Philosopher’s Stone when I was about 10 years old. I’ve read every book (including “Deathly Hallows”) and seen every movie (up to OOTP) and I’m proud to say it truly is an impressive franchise. One thing that disappointed me about the movies (except the fact that A LOT of sub-plots and characters from the books were eliminated) is (the new) Dumbledore’s appearance. He doesn’t remotely look the old, wise, keeps-his-cool-in-tight-situations, white-”long enough to reach his belt”-haired father-figure I’d imagined him to be. I think that the late Richard Harris (R.I.P.) was all that, and maybe even more. He WAS Dumbledore. Period.
(Richard Harris) (Michael Gambon) – Pictures by W.B.
Another GIGANTIC mismatch is the colour of Harry’s eyes. Guys, Harry’s eyes are supposed to be (like Lily’s) emerald green. This is immensely important, as we find out in book seven. Daniel Radcliffe’s eyes are blue. He said they tried giving him contact lenses to make his eyes green, but they were bothering him. One would say : ‘Come on, such an important detail can’t be put aside for something like comfort, can it?’ Well, seems it can…*sigh*
